Red Devils taking advantage of summer practices

OAK HILL, WV (WOAY) – Oak Hill football held morning practices Tuesday, as they continued the first week of the official three-week summer practice period.

The Red Devils have a first-year head coach in David Moneypenny, who returns to high school football after one season away from the sidelines; several of this year’s Red Devils had previously played under Moneypenny at Fayetteville prior to the 2019 consolidation. Also new for Oak Hill will be a return to Class AAA, having played in Class AA for the past four years.

Several players say having the opportunity to work out in Phases One & Two has helped them prepare for the practices in Phase Three. Despite the current uncertainty, they’re optimistic that there will be a 2020 football season.

Oak Hill is scheduled to open the season August 28 at Nicholas County.
