WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): Temperatures will be reaching into the low and mid-80s today, which could break records in several places. With temperatures being this warm, you should take some precautions if you are outside for an extended period of time today. Drink plenty of water, wear sunscreen, and dress lightly through the day. While this is not peak summer heat, it is still recommended to prepare adequately for the warmer conditions today. Another thing to remember is the seasonal burn ban from 7 AM to 5 PM. Avoid all forms of burning during this warmer and drier stretch of the season. Meteorologist Christian Boteler has the latest forecast:
The warm weather will continue tomorrow, although temperatures will not be record-breaking after today. Thursday starts great, but increasing clouds through the day are the precursor to showers and storms moving through overnight. This group of showers will be small and light, not bringing much relief to the region. The minor to moderate drought conditions continue and will not break anytime soon. Showers will linger through Friday morning, but dissipate before lunchtime. After the showers move on, we’ll have a much better afternoon and evening to end the traditional work week.

This weekend will be similar to Thursday and Friday, starting with a nice day on Saturday. Mostly sunny skies will eventually become cloud-covered in the evening hours, which is a precursor to the cold front pushing through the eastern United States Saturday night and Sunday morning. This front will bring widespread showers and thunderstorms into the region. Some storms could be strong, but severe weather will likely stay to the north for the rest of the week. However, unlike Friday, showers and storms will continue through the afternoon. These conditions will dissipate in the evening, bringing calmer and cooler conditions into the region early next week. Here’s the 7-Day Forecast:
