Raleigh County Sheriff's Office Arrested A Man Who Attempted To Attack An Officer With A Knife

According to a press release, police were dispatched to a disturbance that involved Larry Leamon Cook III.  Police were not aware that Cook had been released from the hospital where he has been recovering from a gun shot wound by police back in November for suspected arson.

In November Cook went towards a police officer named A.B. Milam with a large hunting knife and that is when officer Milam shot Cook.  At the scene Friday night they served Cook with multiple warrants with the shooting incident back in November.  He was charged with attempted murder and attempted malicious assault of a law enforcement officer.

Cook is in Southern Regional Jail on a $75,000 bond.
