BECKLEY, WV (WOAY) – Raleigh County residents should once again be on the lookout for scam calls from criminals posing as sheriff’s deputies.
The scam works by faking legitimate numbers from the Sheriff’s office… If scammers call you, they will claim that they have a warrant for your arrest, claiming that you missed an appearance in court.
Remember- the Raleigh County Sheriff’s office will never call you asking for money.
If you get one of these calls, hang up immediately and call the sheriff’s office at 304-255-9300.
