Raleigh County Sheriff mourning loss of K9

The Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office is mourning the loss of one of its retired K9s.

Bella, a bloodhound, worked as a tracking dog, and helped deputies locate everyone ranging from missing kids to dangerous suspects.

“‘Bella’ was truly a special dog, and she will certainly be missed,” Sheriff J. C. Canaday said in a Facebook post.

Bella served as a K9 from 2010 until she retired in 2021.

She spent the rest of her life living with her handler and visiting county schools.
