Raleigh County middle school students participate in career day

BECKLEY (WOAY)- The 20th annual 8th Grade Career Day was held at Marquee Cinemas in Beckley Wednesday/

Approximately 300 students from Raleigh County Middle schools participated in all the fun.

Throughout the morning, students were able to choose from a variety of career workshops where area professionals presented information about their careers, as well as the education and training that is required.

“I think 8th grade is time to start thinking about high school coming up,” coordinator Frankie Cappellari said. “‘What am I going to do, what course will I take in high school? Will I go to technical school or will I go to college?’ So this is awareness for them to start thinking about the future.”

Career day was made possible by the Beckley-Raleigh County Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Raleigh County Schools and Marquee Cinemas
