Raleigh County Man Found Slumped Over In Car With Two Small Children In The Back

BECKLEY, WV (WOAY) – A Raleigh County man is in jail after someone found him slumped over the drivers seat and two small children in the back seat.

According to court documents, police found Earl Cook, slumped over in the drivers seat with the car running.  They observed two small children inside the vehicle along with the mother.  Once police got Cook out of the car they observed various amounts of injection sites on both of his hands and wrists.  Police had Cook perform three sobriety tests.  When placing Cook under arrest two bags of crystal meth was found in the front pocket.  Also located in the front seat was another package of meth and digital scales.

Cook told police that he has a drug problem and knew that he was impaired by meth and suboxone, both of which he ingested that day.

Cook is charged with DUI Child Endangerment and is being held in the Southern Regional Jail under a 10,000 dollar bond.
