RALEIGH COUNTY, WV (WOAY) – A Raleigh County man is in jail after being arrested over the weekend for possession of both marijuana and heroin with intent to deliver.
According to a criminal complaint, a City of Beckley Patrolman spotted a vehicle traveling in Beckley late Saturday with no registration lights functioning. The patrolman reportedly asked the driver to step out of the vehicle, as a K9 partner conducted an exterior sniff and alerted a positive presence for the odor of narcotics. Two passengers were asked to step out as well, and following an interior search of the car, the patrolman reportedly found large amounts of money, along with substances that appeared to be marijuana and heroin.
Richard Pfost of Beaver is charged with Possession With Intent to Deliver Heroin and Possession With Intent to Deliver Marijuana. He is currently in Southern Regional Jail awaiting arraignment, on a surety/cash bond of $80,000.
