Raleigh County Man Arrested For Firing Shots & Spraying Pepper Spray Into A Woman’s Eyes

FAIRDALE, WV (WOAY) – A domestic dispute lands one man in jail.

According to court documents, On Thursday, August 9, 2018, deputies responded to an altercation at a home in Fairdale.

When deputies arrived they found that Clifford Blankenship Jr. had sprayed pepper spray into a woman’s face.  The victim said after she was sprayed with pepper spray, Blankenship took out a handgun and began firing rounds into the ground next to her.  Blankenship shot the woman’s cell phone, too. Deputies found 45 rounds on the porch and a 45 caliber handgun.

Blankenship is charged with wanton endangerment and domestic battery. He is being held in the Southern Regional Jail under a 15,000 dollar bond.
