CLEAR CREEK, WV (WOAY) – A Raleigh County man is in jail after he strangled his girlfriend, beat her in the face with his fist, and threw her off the porch, after he thought she took his heroin.
Raleigh County Deputies were dispatched to a home on Thursday, May 24, 2018, after a man, Sammy Bailey, 50, of Clear Fork became enraged with his girlfriend thinking she took his heroin.
Bailey told his girlfriend that if she didn’t give back his heroin he would kill her. His girlfriend told Bailey she didn’t have it and Bailey started striking her in the face and head with his fist. The victim tried to get away, but Bailey then grabbed her by the throat and choked her. Bailey continued to strike the victim and threw her off the porch.
The victim asked Bailey to take her to the hospital, which he eventually did. She had to be transported from Raleigh General to Ruby Memorial Hosptial in Morgantown because of the severity of her injuries. She suffered a coma from the head injuries.
The victim also suffered a broken nose, black eyes, and bruising on her arms, neck, legs, and chest.
Bailey is charged with malicious wounding, strangulation, and domestic battery. He is being held in the Southern Regional Jail under a 45,000 dollar bond.
