Raleigh County Law Enforcement To Hold Church Safety Seminar

RALEIGH COUNTY (WOAY) – Local law enforcement officials will hold a church safety seminar in the wake of recent shootings.

The Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office, West Virginia State Police, and Beckley City Police Department are teaming up to present a church safety seminar called, “Responding to Violence in Faith-Based Organizations”. With the recent deadly shootings, one that took place in Texas, where a man opened fire in a church killing 26 people, it is important to know what you should do in a situation like it.

The event will take place on Tuesday, January 23, 2018, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Raleigh County Convention Center (Armory). Any church leaders or directors of any faith-based organization are encouraged to attend. If you are interested please call Sheriff Van Meter at 304-255-9195 for more information.
