BECKLEY, WV (WOAY) – Raleigh County Commissioners approved the reimbursement of unpaid back taxes for the Raleigh County Parks Recreation.
Due to improper bookkeeping from a former Raleigh County Administrator, the Raleigh County Commission will pay over 20 thousand dollars in unpaid back taxes from 2017 to 2018.
“The county has paid that much for unpaid back taxes from 2017-18 and even dating back to 2015-16. So hopefully this is the last money that we have to pay,” said Tolliver.
County Commissioner Dave Tolliver says the county has now paid over half a million dollars to resolve the matter.
