BECKLEY, WV (WOAY) – Last week, Raleigh County Commissioners approved funding for machines that will speed up the mail-in ballot counting process.
The machines are called M-100 Readers and will reduce the process by half the time. Commissioner Dave Tolliver says the machine will be a huge help to the County Clerk Office.
“The readers are $9,000 and the County Clerk’s election funds will pay half and of course the other half will come from grants. So basically what it will do is speed up the process. You can imagine how many absentee ballots we are going to have this fall in the general election,” said Tolliver.
