The day started with upbeat music as the Raleigh conventional center held its annual home and leisure show Sunday afternoon. Executive Officer of Southern West Virginia Home Builders Association, Gelilah Barksdale, said, “We have 74 booths in the show this year, and as I said there everything from flooring to roofing.”
The show has been going on for roughly thirty years and many people seem to enjoy it! “I like it, its interesting. Well you get to register for prizes then you get free stuff.” said, Russell Eugene of Coal City. “I’ve come for years, we come every year because we like to come out and look at the new products that’s out for home improvement things like that” said, Lydia Cox of Beckley.
The show even offered a money machine that was sponsored by City National Bank. One vendor that has been going to the show for many years now, says there is always a good turnout. General Manager at Mountaineer Automotive, Keith Tyler stated, “We always take this in every year, we feel like we’re out of the community and we want to work and help the community as much as we can.”
