Raleigh Co. educators meet to discuss pay raise and benefits package

RALEIGH CO., WV (WOAY) – More than a hundred Raleigh County educators gathered at Woodrow Wilson High School this evening to discuss their not liking the state’s proposed pay raise and benefits package.

The proposal they believe is one the table is a one percent increase for the year.

But the Justice administration reworked the language of the bill today to make it a five percent raise over five years.

The Raleigh County group allowed the media to record the opening statements on camera, then decided to kick all three television stations out of the meeting.
