Rainy Pattern Continues; Cooling Down

WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): Yesterday we saw some stronger storms and rainfall across the region, the latter of which will continue into the rest of the work week. There is some low-end potential in our northern counties for some strong storms, though severe weather risk is low for the rest of the work week. Some vulnerable areas may experience flooding and ponding issues, but most of the rainfall will be beneficial. Meteorologist Christian Boteler dives into the details:

Over the last 24 hours, most of the area has seen under an inch of rainfall with some isolated pockets in our area have seen a bit more than an inch. Here’s a look at the observed rainfall over the last 24 hours:

The skies will dry up in the evening Friday and will keep Saturday dry with mostly sunny skies and cooler temperatures lingering from the cold front passing through the area on Thursday. Rain makes a return Sunday afternoon as a precursor to a new low-pressure system coming through the area in the beginning of next week with continued rain and storm chances.
