BECKLEY, WV (WOAY) – The Quilt of Valor Foundation hosted a giveaway for veterans at the Pikeview Christian Church.
The foundation sources quilts from throughout the country to give to local veterans as a thank you for their service. The foundation then sources through local organizations to help donate the quilts.
Beth Jarrell, a member of a local sewing club called the sew-sew sisters, helped organize the giveaway and says it’s their pleasure to give back to veterans any way they can.
“It’s our way of giving back as quilters to show that we do value their service and their time that they have given. And it’s just a reminder for them that they are appreciated.”
In total, four veterans received quilts from the Quilt of Valor Foundation this weekend.
