Public Service Commission announces public comment hearings for proposed Frontier Verizon merger

Charleston, WV (WOAY)—A major telecommunications deal is under review in West Virginia, and the public is invited to comment.  

The state’s Public Service Commission (PSC) has scheduled hearings on Verizon’s proposed acquisition of Frontier Communications.  

Verizon has proposed the acquisition of Frontier Communications and its subsidiaries, which would affect thousands of customers across the state.  

The evidentiary hearing will include testimony and evidence from the companies involved, who filed their joint application last October.  

If approved, the acquisition would bring Frontier West Virginia Citizens Telecommunications and Frontier Communications of America under Verizon’s ownership.  

The PSC will hold a public comment hearing on June 11 at 4:00 p.m. and an evidentiary hearing on June 12 at 9:30 a.m.  

Both sessions will take place at the PSC headquarters in Charleston.  

Those who want to speak during the public comment hearing must register by 4:00 p.m. On June 10.
