West Virginia (WOAY)- West Virginia’s Public Service Commission (PSC) has approved an agreed settlement to help pay for high-speed internet access expansion in Southern West Virginia.
Appalachian and Wheeling Power Companies filed for a $1.7 million increase in broadband access charges that will take effect on September 1.
On September 10, the companies, PSC staff, the PSC Consumer Advocate Division, and the West Virginia Energy Users Group filed a joint settlement agreement with the Commission.
They asked the PSC to approve the proposal to resolve the matter.
The measure will increase average residential customer bills by 23 cents a month and could be immediately implemented.
