Project Blue Light Honors Those Law Enforcement Officers Who Lost Their Life

FAYETTEVILLE, WV (WOAY) – Have you been driving around town and seeing all the different Christmas light. You see colors like green, red, and white lights even candles on the windows. But have seen you seen a blue light?

The blue light is used to commemorate officers who have fallen in the line of duty. For nearly 30 years, Project Blue light has been increasing in numbers year by year, and it helps impact our local law enforcement.

“I have one year-round at my house. It’s something that means a lot to me. And to the loved ones who lost someone that was in law enforcement I know that they know what it means. It shows respect and that they care about their law enforcement,” said Sheriff Mike Fridley, Fayette County

We’ve also been told that this was a great way of showing appreciation to families who have lost loved ones who protect and serve.
