Princeton Man Found Guilty in Stabbing Death of Ex-Wife

PRINCETON– A Princeton man has been found guilty of second-degree murder in the stabbing death of his ex-wife hours after she had remarried.

According to the Bluefield Daily Telegraph, Williiam J. Seal, 34, was charged with first-degree murder in the stabbing death of 26-year-old Ashley Seal, who was stabbed a total of 86 times.

The jury returned the verdict Wednesday afternoon.

Officers with the Princeton Police Department found William Seal and the body of Ashley Seal in the 108 Highland Avenue apartment they once shared.

William Seal, who suffered a stab wound in the stomach, contended he was acting in self-defense and was provoked.

Judge William Sadler instructed the jury that three verdicts were possible in the case: first-degree murder, second-degree murder and voluntary manslaughter.
