Princeton Community Hospital launches scrub tech training program

Princeton, WV (WOAY)- WVU Medicine Princeton Community Hospital (PCH) is launching a new program to help licensed practical nurses further their careers as surgical technologists.

PCH partnered with MedCerts to launch the training program, which provides LPNS with a pathway to become certified scrub techs.

Students will undergo 18 weeks of online classes and finish the course with a clinical course at PCH to provide them with hands-on experience.

PCH fully funds the training cost in exchange for a two-year employment commitment from students.

Scrub techs, also known as surgical technologists, are responsible for preparing the operating room, maintaining the sterile field, managing equipment, and other tasks.

LPNs working in southern West Virginia and southwestern Virginia within 30 minutes of PCH are qualified to participate in the program.

PCH is now accepting applications for the program, but hurry – there are limited spots available.
