WASHINGTON (ABC7) — President George H.W. Bush and wife Barbara Bush celebrated their 73rd anniversary on Saturday.
The former president and first lady have been married longer than any other presidential couple in United States history.
The second-longest marriage of any U.S. president is Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter who have been married for 71 years.
President H.W. Bush also became the longest-living U.S. president this past November when he outlived President Gerald Ford, who died in 2006 at age 93.
The older Bush was president from Jan. 20, 1989, to Jan. 20, 1993, and has recently come under fire after several women accused him of touching them inappropriately.
