MILTON, W.Va.- Police say a West Virginia motorist was drunk when her vehicle crashed and killed her two young children.
Media outlets report that Milton police obtained arrest warrants Monday in Cabell County Magistrate Court that accuse 26-year-old Siera Lenise Burgess of two counts of DUI causing death. Burgess is being treated for serious injuries at a Huntington hospital.
Police say the 26-year-old Branchland resident was driving an eastbound car that crossed an Interstate 64 median and collided with a pickup truck and a tractor-trailer on Friday night in Milton. Two of her children, 1-year-old Sarah Cooper and 3-year-old Skylor Cooper, were killed.
Burgess’ 7-year-old daughter is recovering from her injuries.
