Police: Va. daycare worker charged with pinching kids

RICHMOND, Va.- Police say a Richmond daycare worker has been arrested for pinching children in her care.

Maria Lynn West has been charged with two counts of simple assault. Police say the 50-year-old West worked at All Saints Apostolic Church in South Richmond. Police say the children she allegedly pinched were between 3 and 5 years old.

Police say the charges were brought Feb. 15.

A manager at the All Saints Apostolic Church daycare told television station WWBT-TV she was unaware of the charges and wouldn’t confirm whether West was still an employee.

It was not clear if West has an attorney.
