CAPTURED: Police wanted man they say robbed a 91-year-old Raleigh Co. woman

DRY CREEK, WV (WOAY-TV) – The West Virginia State Police say they have arrested Brandon Cantley.  They say they caught him near Eccles.

He waas wanted in reference to a violent burglary investigation. Tuesday around 10 am police responded to Dry Creek in Raleigh County in reference to a home invasion. Police say Cantley forcibly entered the home and became physically violent with the 91 year old homeowner Gladys Ballard. During this time, Ballard’s caretaker came to the home and was also confronted by Cantley.

Cantley then found a small caliber pistol in the home and demanded money from both victims. He got a small amount of money and then locked the victims inside an elevator lift. He then stole a few items inlcuding a 2001 gold Jeep Cherokee.

Cantley faces charges of kidnapping, strong armed robbery, and two counts of battery, assault, and wanton endangerment.
