UPDATE: Man Charged With Murder After Shooting His Wife

IEAGER, WV (WOAY) – The identity of the suspect and victim of a fatal shooting have been released.

Johnathan Mounts, 41, shot his wife April Mounts, 35, after a domestic dispute.

Mounts is charged with First-Degree Murder and is awaiting transportation to Southwestern Regional Jail.

IEAGER, WV (WOAY) – West Virginia State Police are investigating a homicide that happened in McDowell County.

State Police tell WOAY NewsWatch that a 35-year-old female was shot by her husband. The shooting occurred during the early morning hours on Coon Branch Mountain Road in Ieager.

The suspect ran from Police but they later caught him.

State Police are investigating the incident and more information will be released when it becomes available.
