Driver Leads Police On A High Speed Chase In Raleigh County

FIRST ON WOAY: RALEIGH COUNTY (WOAY) – Police were busy Saturday evening trying to stop a driver who led them on a high-speed chase.

Dispatchers tell WOAY News that at around 9:30 pm a call came in of a stolen vehicle on Teel Road in Beckley. Police units from Raleigh and Fayette County responded and speeds reached up to 90mph. Police tried using stop sticks to stop the vehicle but were unsuccessful.

The driver turned on S. Raleigh Ave in Mount Hope and jumped out of the vehicle on foot. A K-9 was used and the suspect was caught and has been taking into custody.
