Pedestrian struck and killed in Oak Hill

UPDATE (11/21/2019 8:49 a.m.) – Just after 8 p.m. last night, police responded to a call about a pedestrian struck by a car on East Main Street.

The pedestrian was immediately taken to Plateau Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. The name of the victim is not being released at this time.

The driver of the vehicle involved was cooperative and released from the scene.

Video of the accident was caught from a nearby business’s camera.

Accident reconstructionists were called in from the West Virginia State Police. Fault will not be determined until their report is complete.


OAK HILL, WV (WOAY) – A pedestrian has been struck and killed in Oak Hill.

Chief Mike Whisman tells WOAY that a pedestrian was struck and killed on East Main Street in Oak Hill near King Coal Chevrolet.

East Main Street will be shut down until further notice.
