WEST VIRGINIA, WV (WOAY) – West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey expressed concern over the sudden cancellation of the Atlantic Coast Pipeline.
The pipeline was announced in 2014 and construction has been on and off, but it was just recently canceled after the developers expressed uncertainty about litigation issues.
Morrissey says it’s a huge disappointment that the project could be canceled over issues with permits.
“It’s critical for us to focus on the abusive nature of what can occur when one district court judge can put a national moratorium on a permit policy. And I’m gonna keep working to get to the bottom of this. I want West Virginia families to be protected,” he said.
According to Morrissey, the pipeline was expected to create 1,500 jobs in the state.
