BECKLEY, WV (WOAY)—A workforce study was presented during the parkway authorities meeting earlier this month at the Tamarack.
The goal of the study was to help address high turnover and low retention rates when it comes to parkway authorities. All employees were given an anonymous online survey to complete in five weeks.
The study helped to show why despite the high marks in satisfaction and self-worth, turnover rates were very high.
A chart of wage comparisons to other states show that WV’s parkway authorities workers earn less on average than workers with the same job in neighboring states.
The parkway authorities conducted similar studies in both 2007 and 2017. The Board will consider all aspects of the report over the next several months.
