Park Coming To Oak Hill Maintains Name

OAK HILL, WV (WOAY)- Oak Hill City Council has some exciting news for a park that will be built in Oak Hill.

The council voted tonight to maintain the name of a park which is known as Needles Eye Park.

Bill Hannabass, City Manager of Oak Hill, shared the importance of the name and why the Council decided to keep the name.

“The official name of the park is Needles Eye Park and it was discussed by us at one time that it would be called Needles Eye Boulder Park, but the Council wisely chose the name Needles Eye Park because you can enjoy the park, whether you are hiking or climbing or biking or whatever, once it gets established and is up and running,” said Hannabass since the park will offer much more than bouldering and rock climbing.

The park is expected to open in 2020 after all of the construction is completed.
