GREENBRIER CO., WV (WOAY) – One of the victims in the Greenbrier County double murder investigation was also involved in a shooting on Harper Road in Beckley back in December.
We first reported on January 5, 2017 that Raleigh Co. Sheriff’s Deputies were looking for Shae Abren, also known as Shae McCoy.
They believed she was with a man who shot at another guy at the Go-Mart on Harper Road on December 17 and they wanted her for questioning. The sheriff’s office didn’t release any more information on the case afterwards. Almost a month to the day later, she was found dead in Greenbrier County.
According to her former husband’s Facebook page, Shae McCoy had five young children.
The Greenbrier Sheriff’s Office says they found McCoy’s body on Thursday the 18th behind an abandoned house in Blue Bend off State Route 92. That’s northeast of Lewisburg.
Then on Saturday the 20th, they found Chastity Faye Hamm’s body in a secluded wooded area buried in a shallow grave in the same area.
The medical examiner’s office in Charleston ruled both had been murdered.
Investigators won’t say yet how either girl was killed, or who their suspected killer is, except to say they have a suspect in custody on an unrelated incident.
McCoy was 32-years old. Hamm was 24-years-old.
