It’s time to splash into summer!
Named the East Coast’s largest adventure resort, ACE Adventure also holds Travel Channel’s award-winning water park.
Why travel out of the state for water park fun when you can drive in less than 10 minutes to Wonderland Waterpark?
“So we were kind of a secret for a long time. The folks that are in West Virginia, particularly, those that are only an hour away. We’ve really started to get the word out this year that this is a great opportunity right here in your backyard, so we’re seeing a lot more residents come in and spend time with us,” Haynes Mansfield, the Marketing Director at ACE, told us.
This 500 acre water park has fun to offer for every member of the family… and this summer they even have a special discount for residents.
“So on Wednesday nights this year, we’ve got an offer for a lot of our locals to enjoy. You can come in and get a half day pass for only $10 which is about half of the regular price, and we have pizzas for just $6 coming out of our wood fire pizza oven right there on the shore.”
With a half day or full day pass, you can spend the day climbing in the water or ziplining into it, and going through dozens of obstacle courses.
But there’s one part of the park that stands out from the rest.
“One of the big things out here in the park is the blob. It’s a large inflatable pillow, essentially, that one person jumps on to and crawls to the end, and then another person will jump on the end and throw them up into the air! It’s very fun to watch and everybody seems to love it,” continued Haynes.
And there’s no doubt about that…
“Everyone says they’re favorite part of the park is the blob.”
Wonderland Water park is open daily from 9 am to 8 pm from Memorial Day weekend all the way to Labor Day!
“You know honestly this is so great for kids. I mean, it’s a really safe environment with the inflatables, you don’t feel like they’ll get hurt. Honestly, I’m so glad we found this place. It’s a perfect day for us,” a visitor, Bethany Ruhe, said.
So as you can see this water park has all kinds of pumped up fun for all ages!
And what’s a waterpark without a huge slide?!
And its only a short ride away from any part of southern West Virginia… so way less than one tank of gas!
