One person dead in officer involved shooting following domestic dispute in Oak Hill

Oak Hill, WV (WOAY)- One person is deceased following an officer-involved shooting stemming from a domestic dispute in Fayette County.

According to an official press release, The Oak Hill Police Department responded to a 911 call around 5:00 am, directing them to a Beech Avenue residence.

The female caller reported she had been stabbed and was bleeding, urging authorities to come quickly.

Upon arrival, officers encountered a male suspect, armed with what was suspected to be a shotgun.

Shots were fired and the male suspect was pronounced dead on the scene.

The female victim is being treated for several stab wounds at an area hospital.

The Fayette County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the shooting.
