One Man Facing Battery Charges After Fight Breaks Out At Greenbrier Resort

LEWISBURG, WV (WOAY) – One man is in jail after he got into a fight with security officers at the Greenbrier Resort. He told deputies he was going to rape their daughters and put a bullet in their heads.

According to a criminal complaint, The Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Department responded to the Greenbrier Resort for a disturbance call.  When deputies arrived two Greenbrier Security Guards stated that a gentleman inside had hit a couple people and an employee of the Casino Security Team.  A Casino Security member had a white male pinned on the ground with his hands behind his back.

The man was identified as Michael McCormick and he resisted every request made by the deputies and cussed them. He told one deputy, “I am going to rape your daughters and put a bullet in your head.”

McCormick kicked the deputy in the right shoulder and right jaw.

The complaint goes on to say that McCormick originally started an argument with two others, which led to him punching someone in the face, cussing, and making inappropriate comments.

As deputies were transporting McCormick he told them he was going to murder their families with a one-percent gang to do so.  He attempted to bite one of the deputies ears.

McCormick is charged with 3 counts of battery, battery on an officer, and threats against an officer. He is being held in the Southern Regional Jail under a 50,000 dollar bond.
