One killed in fire at DOH garage in Webster County

WEBSTER COUNTY, WV (WCHS/WVAH) — Webster County 911 dispatchers said one person has been killed in a fire at the Webster County Division of Highways garage in Cherry Falls.

Units arrived on the scene about 2:50 a.m. Monday.

The name of the person killed in the fire has not been released.

Carrie Jones, a spokeswoman for the state Department of Transportation, said a transportation worker died of smoke inhalation. He had only been employed with the agency since October. Staff members are currently in a meeting and more information will be released later Monday.
