Officials Looking for Person Who Shot Bald Eagle

PICKAWAY– A male bald eagle was found on March 11, 2017 near the Second Creek fly fishing area on the Monroe County/Greenbrier County line, near Pickaway, WV.

He was apparently shot with a high power rifle, completely eliminating the left elbow. Three Rivers Avian Center is offering aa $500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person who shot this bird. There was no way to save the bird, he had to be euthanized. The loss of this male bald eagle means that his nest, which they believe is in the near area, will fail. If you have a tip, please call the WV Dept of Natural Resources Police Office at 304-256-6947.
