West Virginia State Trooper Shot In Roane County Identified

Multiple police agencies are responding to a situation on Red Oak Drive in the Cicerone area of Roane County.

Captain Reggie Patterson said a West Virginia State Trooper and Roane County deputy were responding to a suicidal threats call that turned out to be a domestic situation when they were met by gunfire as they approached the front door.

Both officers were struck in some fashion related to the gunfire and suffered non-life threatening injuries, according to Patterson.

The shooter, who has been identified as Stanley Gordon Hoskins Jr., 52, remains barricaded in the home, Patterson said.

No other injuries have been reported.

Numerous law enforcment agencies are on scene.
