UPDATED: Truck allegedly crosses the line on WV 3, killing driver of SUV

RALEIGH CO., WV (WOAY) — One person is dead after a fatal car accident in Raleigh County Monday evening.

 

The Raleigh Co. Sheriff’s Office says a Chevrolet SUV with a driver and passenger was heading west on WV 3 near Metalton/Eccles.  A Chevy truck was heading in the other direction.

Investigators say the truck crossed the yellow line and hit the SUV.

The SUV’s driver, a 73-year-old from Wyoming Co., died in the crash.

The passenger was flown to Charleston and at last reportis in critical condition.

The driver of the truck went to a local hospital with minor injuries.

No names have been released and no criminal charges have been filed.
