Oak Hill Woman Arrested After Dog Found Malnourished

OAK HILL-  An Oak Hill woman has been arrested on animal cruelty allegations.

A Fayette County Sheriff’s Deputy was on patrol in Oak Hill when he noticed a dog which seemed to be skinny and sickly in someone’s yard.  The deputy noted that the dog was unable to stand on its own. Fayette County Animal Control took the boxer breed dog to a local animal hospital.  The veterinarian confirmed that the dog was malnourished,  registering a 2 out of a possible 9 on the nutrition scale.

The dog’s owner,  Amber Heater (36 of Oak Hill) turned herself in to the Sheriff’s Department to answer the Animal Cruelty warrant obtained on her by the deputy.  She was released on bond following her arraignment.
