An Oak Hill Man Is In Jail For Burglary And Counterfeit Money

OAK HILL, WV (WOAY) – An Oak Hill man is in jail for breaking into a home today.

At about noon today Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a home on Hunk Hill Road in Scarbro regarding a burglary complaint. The homeowner caught a man in the process of burglarizing his home and held him until law enforcement arrived. Deputies found the man, Isreal Lee Gilkey of Oak Hill, with the victim’s cell phone and credit card in his pockets.

Gilkey also had in his possession a large amount of counterfeit money. The U.S. Secret Service responded to assist with the counterfeit issue. Gilkey was charged with the felony offense of Burglary and did not post the $10,000 bond issued by the Fayette County Magistrate’s Office. He was then transported to the Southern Regional Jail.
