Oak Hill-Chapmanville called off for Friday

WOAY Sports learned Thursday evening that the Oak Hill-Chapmanville football game will not be played Friday due to Logan County suspending all athletic contests.

The Logan Banner was first to report activities had been suspended.

This would’ve been the season opener for Oak Hill football, with the recent introduction of a “gold zone” to the Department of Education’s statewide color-coded map; Fayette County had been cleared to hold athletic contests until the next deadline of 5 PM Saturday.

Oak Hill’s boys soccer, girls soccer, and girls volleyball teams were all able to play Thursday, and the Midland Trail-Meadow Bridge football game is still set for 7:30.

In addition to Oak Hill-Chapmanville, the Tug Valley-Logan and Man-Mingo Central games are also off for Friday; Tug Valley and Mingo Central have since agreed to play each other.
