SOUTHERN WV– The DHHR has announced that the state is now experiencing a state wide outbreak of Hepatitis A.
In their newest report they released that less than five people have been diagnosed with the disease in Raleigh, Greenbrier and Wyoming Counties.
A nurse at the Greenbrier County Health Department told WOAY that these local cases have popped up in the last two weeks and are realated to this outbreak. She says while the disease can be spread through fecal-oral contamination, they are mostly dealing with cases coming from drug users.
