Nicholas County Sheriff’s Department Investigating Numerous Threats of Terroristic Acts

NICHOLAS COUNTY (WOAY) – The Nicholas County Sheriff’s Department, in connection with all law enforcement agencies in Nicholas County, are currently investigating numerous incidents of Threats of Terroristic Acts, in violation of West Virginia Code ⸹ 61-6-24.

As of today, one juvenile individual has been charged in connection with this criminal code for making terroristic threats on social media regarding the public schools and could face up to five (5) years in Division of Corrections custody. Other terroristic acts have been made and are currently being investigated and more charges are forthcoming. If you have any information regarding any of these types of crimes please feel free to contact my office or any law enforcement agency in our county.

These crimes will be vigorously investigated and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. There will be no tolerance for any terroristic action taken or threatened to be taken in an attempt to disrupt our public schools in this County. “I have currently created a task force to closely monitor social media outlets to identify all individuals involved in these types of crimes and will spare no expense to ensure safety of our children.”, says Sheriff William F.
