MORGANTOWN, WV (WOAY)- West Virginia University has named a Nicholas County native as the 70th and 2024-25 WVU Mountaineer.
Braden Adkins from Richwood was announced as the next Mountaineer mascot tonight at the men’s basketball game in Morgantown. He is a junior economics major who served as the alternate mountaineer this past year.
He will take over the role from Mikel Hager during the passing of the rifle ceremony on April 26th.
