Nicholas County Man Arrested For Threatening To Blow Up A School

SUMMERSVILLE, WV (WOAY) – A Nicholas County man is out of jail after threatening to kill and rape a woman, burn her house down, and blow up a school.

Officers were dispatched to a domestic in progress. They saw a man walking down the road with his shirt of shouting and pointing. Officers attempted to stop the man but he started cussing them out. Once the man was detained they identified him as Patrick Lee Butler II.

His wife stated that her soon to be ex-husband began threatening her for an hour. Butler stated that he was going to kill her, rape her, and burn down her house. Butler went on to say that he was going to burn down her friend’s house, blow up the school, and burn down her mother’s house.

The victim’s mother also stated the same thing to the police and said he was very intoxicated.

Butler was charged with terroristic threats, obstructing, public intoxication, and domestic assault. He is currently out on bond.
