WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): After what seemed like a couple of weeks of scattered storms on the forecast, we’re in the middle of a nice break from the rain. Mostly sunny skies and temperatures in the mid to upper 80s for the next couple of days is absolutely wonderful for any summer activities you’ve been waiting to do. However, make sure you’ve got plenty of water and sunscreen. The weekend will return to the more typical pattern of scattered afternoon storms and showers. Meteorologist Christian Boteler has the details:
The heat will continue to intensify through the week, with most of the region being in the mid to upper 80s through Friday. To our west, the lowlands will have even more intense heat from the heatwave to our west. While I don’t anticipate any Heat Advisories for our region, we will still see some concerns through the week, especially Friday. Make sure you drink water, apply sunscreen, and listen to your body if you are outside for extended period. Here’s the region’s Heat Risk Outlook for Friday:

The weekend will return us to wetter weather with some scattered thunderstorms and showers. Some may be strong, but severe weather is not expected within the region as of now. The highest chances will be on Sunday as a disturbance moves through before leaving some lingering showers and storms along with warmer temperatures again to start the next work week.
