BECKLEY, WV (WOAY) – A Raleigh County native and music legend will soon have a second statue in Beckley.
The City of Beckley is in the process of building a second statue to honor the late musician Bill Withers. The sculpture will be located in Beckley’s Green spaces.
“Not only was he a world renowned musician and artist, but he was really a good person, so we think that this is a fitting tribute to him and one that will the public will like,” said Mayor Rob Rappold.
The Mayor said he is currently working on the funding of the statue and the project will take at least two years to be built.
