New River Unitarian Universalist Fellowship participates in globalized online service

BECKLEY, WV (WOAY) – The New River Unitarian Universalist Fellowship was part of a multinational online service.

The service was an annual event done by the fellowship each year, and this was the first time it was done entirely online. It featured speakers from unitarian universalist congregations from all around the world.

The President of the New River congregation April Cassidy said that they’ve been having smaller online services for months now, with some of them getting a lot of attention from around the country.

“Since they’ve been online, we have had people drop in from Portland, Oregon, from Philadelphia, from Chicago, North Carolina. So it’s actually opened up the opportunity for more people to tune into what’s happening in Beckley,” Cassidy said.

More than 2,000 people from around the globe tuned into the online service.
